Hi everyone!

I need help urgently. I have been asked by buffalo to do RCMP fingerprint check for myself. I went to do it with International Fingerprinting Agency but had a problem that my passport has no Given name in it, only last name. The reason is that we usually use father's name as the last name in Pakistan but when the international Passport was made it had an extra column of last name along with father's name so that just complicated the matter and eventually my passport mentions my first name as last name; given name blank and father's name as it should be. This is how my file in buffalo is being reviewed too. Now the fingerprinting agency is not accepting it saying they need to enter something in the first name field.. what to do?

In the immigration application, I mentioned my first name + father's name as other names I use. Can I use this format to apply for fingerprinting. Please reply soon as I am running out of time.

Thanks,

Had similar situation, the agent just put "UNKNOWN"

So let's say you have only one name which is Ali then it will be ALI, UNKNOWN

Thanks ethels for prompt reply. I would appreciate if you could tell me what happened afterwards. Did buffalo gave you any trouble or asked for clarification?

I never had any problem with this.  The name is as it appears on my TRV, WP, SP, Passport, Drivers license, SIN Card, Birth certificate.

Especially if you have lodged WP/SP before and you were using this exact name, this means they already have you on their "CLIENT ID" database.

The only thing is, RCMP police clearance might take longer for some reason if you have one name... so just be patient Smiley ... for me it takes roughly 3-4 weeks.

Thanks Ethels. For now, I have sent email to buffalo and rcmp to find out how to go forward in case of no good response, I will do as you did. Will let you know how it went. Thanks again!
