Hello everyone,

A brief background info about me:
I applied for FSW IN Canada at the end of last year and everything has been fine...I received my ME notice in June 2011 and submitted my finger print result Visa Office in early Aug this year. I have been working in Vancouver in the same company from the time I submitted my FSW application. The status of my application has been MER (Medical examination received) for a few months. Then last night...I found this email from Canada Visa Office saying they ask me to fly back to my home country for an interview next month! And if I fail to attend this interview my application may be rejected.

My problem right now is that I do NOT have my passport since I submitted it to the V.O. along with other documents to my home country, so I cannot even leave Canada or enter my home country at all...And BARELY anyone who received a MER will still receive a notice for interview as far as I know...So I am kinda shocked by this email.

Has anyone here encountered the same situation or have any suggestions? I would deeply appreciate your advice and experience! Thank you in advance!!!

Hi

Waiting for someone to help...I am very nervous about that email...

1.  Why would you submit your passport to the visa office, they only ask for copies?
2.  You have got your answer, if you don't appear, probably will be refused.
3.  You better try to get your passport back from the visa office.

If you find it impossible to get back your passport then you should write to your Visa Office for your current situation ASAP.

Thanks guys, A LOT!

For PMM, has anyone asked you similar questions b4? Like...an interview notification after the Medical Examination and figure print? Does it imply anything in general? i.e. The V.O. wants to fail you even you go for the interview?

Wolfy, your is a very troublesome situation, but all is not lost. The other poster gave you some good advice.

Another rather long option would be, approach your country consulate and ask for a emergency travel document. You fly there and give interview, ask a friend to send passport home by hand or mail.

1.  Yes, where some thing has come up during the background check, or a security interview is required.  Usually it is a security interview, occasionally a Quality Assurance Interview.

Hi Wolffy, for SECURITY CHECK , refer below thread

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/-t39578.0.html

Better to order CAIPS NOTES, the reason for the interview will be mentioned in it.

All the best for ahead.

Cheers...

How many people are getting interview calls from NDVO. Has anyone of NOC 1111 who sent the full documents to NDVO in August 2010 received any response from the VO.

1) write to VO explain every thing and request for change of venue to local CIC office in Vancouver if possible (I don't think its possible)
Try for a travel document but you may need to apply for new passport later, you will also need TRV to reenter in Canada.
