Hi,

I need some help regarding regarding renewing a recently expired study permit outside of Canada ( London, UK).
I am currently a student in Simon Fraser University, Vancouver
This is my problem. My study permit and temporary resident visa has expired. I mailed my application for renewal inside Canada a month before my visa expired.
I have made plans to travel London for holiday in December and made plans to  return in the second week of January.
However, my study permit application has yet to be processed and accepted as CIC is currently processing application from 3rd September.
I fear I would not receive it in time.

I figure the best option is to reapply a new study permit and temporary resident visa in the canadian immigration office in London. However, the average processing time is approx. 6 weeks and I can only spending less than 4 weeks in London or risk missing my classes in University

Anyway, I am seeking help regarding tips and any useful information in filling out  this second application.
Additionally, ways to hasten my application.
Any feedback would be much appreciated.
thanks

Apply to the nearest Canadian embassy for your study permit first. Get an unoffical transcript print out from your student account. I guess you can get access to your student account from UK. Also ask your supervisor/ international student advisor to write a letter that you are a continuing student of the University immediately. As receiving the letter by post will take time, just ask them to email it to you. And get a print out. Give a photocopy of your student ID card with the application. This will again prove that you are an ongoing student of the University. Also show that you have enough funding for rest of your study.

I wish you goodluck and a trouble free return to Canada.
