I am preparing for the documents of Canadian permanent resident application. As I had worked in Mauritania for 2

yrs, I need to provide police certificate from Mauritania government. I am not Mauritania citizen/resident or live

in Mauritania now. I also check Mauritania embassy with regards to getting police certificate from Mauritania, they

do not provide such service. It seems I have to apply for a police certificate in person at Mauritania (we do not

have relative or friends there). It is quite tough process for me... May I ask how should I handle with that? Can I

submit my permanent resident application without Mauritania police certificate? Is there any policy for such

scenario? Any advice is highly appreciated. Thanks a lot for your time.

You did need to provide police certificate from Mauritania. I've checked the CIC website but they don't detailed instruction on how to acquire the PC. Below is the URL from CIC website:

thanks for the reply. Does anyone have or hear of similar experience : difficult to get the police certificate from 3rd country (not ur home country or where u currently live in). Do I have to fly to Mauritania to get this certificate? This is too tough for me.

I have no friends in Mauritania. And Mauritania embassy does not provide such service. Any suggestion?

Thanks a lot!!!

Hey dude.
You worked in Mauritania for 2 years, then you must have a boss/coworker/neighbor still residing there. what about the company you worked for? they must still be there.

Then forget Immigration to Canada since your papers WILL NOT BE PROCESSED,I had a similiar guy who was being sponsored by his wife in Canada,He lacked police clearance in Brunei for a  1 year period,He thought it was nonsense until His kids were Approved and He was DENIED,Guess who flew to Brunei the next week......
