Hello all,

In the form IMM 0008 E Schedule 1, question 9..it says if my girlfriend ever asked for a temporary visitor visa, and we answered "no" because we read the question too fast. But..with the Spousal questionnaire, we explained she asked for a tourist visa and received it and we even took a photocopy of her passport with the visa in it.

Now I am worried they will say we lied and that we were misrepresenting and they are going to ban my wife for 2 years...what should I do? I am stressed as hell...

It should be fine.  But if you really want to fix it, send the revised form with the appropriate answer and a cover letter explaining your mistake to the visa post once you get AOR and the visa file number.

should I send a fax right now to the visa office with my client ID (I am the sponsor) instead of waiting for the AOR Letter?
In another thread, some person said they refused his parents because they did answer something wrong in the schedule 1 ....
that is what scares me the most...

No, in my opinion you should wait until you get the visa file number from the processing visa office.  This will make it easier for CIC to match things up correctly.  They get more than 1000 applications every week at CPC Mississauga so doing it when it gets to the visa office is in your best interests.  I also replied to the other thread.  Take a look at the list of questions in Section 9.  You will see that other questions are much more serious than the one where your mistake was made. The mistake you made is minor and really, you've already addressed your mistake in the Questionnaire and provided a photocopy of the TRV.  You don't really need to do anything but you can if it will ease your mind.

I did the same thing and was thinking of sending a corrected form. So my question is...should I send all 4 pages of the Sch 1, or just the first page with perhaps my signature by the question? And then my visa office required three copies of that form, so I don't know if I should make 3 copies of whatever I do. I don't want to complicate things for them, but I also wouldn't mind correcting my answer.

I am sure I am over thinking this, but my oversight has left me feeling stressed....

If you are going to send it, send complete forms and the required number of copies.

They won't ban your wife for misrepresentation because it is clearly just a mistake, and one that CIC sees quite often. They can tell you were not trying to hide anything by the fact that you told about the tourist visa and showed a photocopy of it. This proves you weren't trying to hide anything, you just misinterpreted the question. So don't worry.
Do send in a corrected copy of the form and an explanation as rjessome suggested, though.

I did the same thing, read that exact question too fast and answered no. Then which led me to make a mistake on the second question about refusal. I called the call centre this week about it. For initial sponsorship (your part) it doesn't matter, for hers you need to send in a letter explaning your error or re-send that page with corrections to the VO when it is transferred there. It is true that they may not think it's a big deal and let it slide but better safe then sorry i always think. I was told by the call centre to correct the error once my sponsorship is approved and the file was transferred. That was I would have a file number to include.

i did the same thing too.. its a tricky question and i believe that probably more than 75% of ppl make the mistake..
i emailed a new copy.. and they confirmed it.. but then when we were getting approval they asked for it again.. so i guess it got lost along the way.. whatever...

we just sent a scanned copy via email with the right check mark..
wait until you get a B number or something -- its easier... they'll see its a slight oversight.. no worries
dont stress.. i built up this huge lame story in my head like the world was crashing down and i sccrewed everything up for one stupid check mark.. but no its no biggie..
breathe!
