IELTS Request: 8.0

I have created a new thread as advised by a senior member to get a wider opinion from seniors as I think I just messed up my application & was keen to rectify if I could.

I filed an application post July 2011 but since I have made some mistakes , I was thinking of submitting a second application .
I send copies of birth and marriage certificate but not notarised copies . Also, I did not keep an explanation why transcripts were not provided although I had a reason to.This is now worrying me as I think I should re-apply and not wait for the docs to be returned as I am losing time.

1) Is this at all possible to file a second application while I havent recieved any comms from CIC yet regarding the initial application?
2) Since the IELTS original should be submitted along with the application & is in the initial package with CIC now, should I re-take the exam or mention that the original is already with CIC ? I have the Academic original but I understand that CIC requires GT.
3) Any feedback on the approx timeframe CIC take to return the docs if it fails the completeness check ?
4) Have you seen from experience talking to various members in this forum, if a explanatory letter is send to CIC when rejected by re-sending the docs with additional info required - do they consider it without treating it as a new application ?

Many Thanks

Before you get any more 'insane', take a deep breath. lol

1. Yes it is possible to submit  another application. Unfortunately, you do not have GT EILTS ready to submit with your application (unless you do now). Your application will be returned without GT IELTS
2. This is pointless now.
3. Ranges from 1-3 months
4.This would have bee the best option  but:
i. do you already have GT IELTS handy?
ii. notarized birth certs?
iii. original transcripts ( what is the reason for not submitting original transcript)

Did you submit this application in haste in order to beat the cap so did not read the instructions?
From my point of view, the outstanding documents required to make this application complete are many, thus the need for a fresh   application.....
If you have GT IELTS, you could drop CIO an e-mail that you want to update your application (as they haven't reviewed it yet, they will see it as incomplete even before they process the fees)...Mandie

a) CIO doesn't have the time, wherewithal & the inclination to merge various subsequent letters/papers/docs into one file - to 'complete' one [earlier sent] package. They r there to screen & eliminate as much cases as rightfully possible -- thus, your option-4 wouldn't work.

b) A new apps must be 'complete' -- all docs, fees, certs., forms etc. 'Coz, it moves on its own merits. So, if u have all the necessary [original, transcripts etc.] docs... u may file another one. Else, u better hold-on. Of course then where the 'cap' situation'd be is anyone's guess.

c) Docs maybe returned in 4-6++ months...

BTW, u r in dire straits... await their response... who knows it might be a PER. Then update your VO accordingly.

Try to fax to them the correct info or documents. You might be lucky to get a positive reply. I read today in the May 2011 applicants ie from Harry who was in a similar situation and got a PER. Try reading that and keep hoping for the best. (Remember u have nothing to loose by trying). Good luck.

Thought the same, but he hasnt got GT IELTS ( now going to do it). That alone is enough to have his application returned...Mandie

Did you do send your original GT IELTS?  If this is the case, you can reorder your IELTS result certificate for a fee to be included in your second application.

Thank you everyone for taking time to post your thoughts - really appreciate it.

Sorry if I was unclear earlier-
1. Yes I did submit the GT original TRF along with the application. To re-submit I need to sit another exam but I fear that time will not favour me . In btw, I do have the Academic original with me which I also appeared for but understand that CIC accepts only GT (although I have seen some lucky few who got away with Academic module). I have asked IDP if they can send a second original copy - Fingers crossedxx - on looking at random posts I see that they only issue it to the office/institution Sad
2. The reason why I was unable to submit the transcript was bcos I was discussing a surgery that I had to go through due to a unfortunate car accident that I had. So I was unable to travel and had to rely on emails and phone calls to the university - I do have proof of the emails that I send to the Uni requesting for the procedure/and details to which they did not reply nor provide info on the phone. A complete hindsight, that I forgot to mention it in the cover letter .
3. I did send an email to CIC to inform them the same but as it says on their website that any applications within 6 weeks will not get a response, I am quite in the dark if there is someone who actually read it.

I know the questions that I asked do not have full proof answers as it all depends on one's fate but thank you so much for giving me hope & advice . I do tend to go by the saying ' everything happens for a reason' and really did not want to just sit back and do nothing .

Many thanks !

Hi Qorax/Seniors,

I just had a look around reading the new forms and see some interesting changes - please could you help clarify if I am reading it right ?

1. The document checklist is now universal that gives explicit information on docs to be gathered - No longer can I see a country specific checklist - is this removed ?
2. In the checklist or anywhere in the CIC website , it no longer ask for all the docs to be notarised excluding the originals/translated docs ? Is this right ? If yes, then I might be saved here from not providing the notraised copies of marriage/birth cert.
3. In the checklist, it asks for the transcripts ( if available) and does not say that it is mandate - am I reading this right ?

To keep you informed of the status of this thread, I received positive feedback from IDP to receive a second original TRF copy on submitting the FIR/passport copy etc .

Please do take some time to read and share your feedback - thanks again !
