My wife came to Canada on Dec 30 2010 and her 6 month visitor status is up June 30 2011. I just sent my sponsorship application for her immigration today and I am trying to extend her visitor visa today but when I was filling out the application form it read ...
"If your current temporary resident status is still valid you can apply for an extension of your stay providing you apply at least 30 days before the expiry date of your current status"
However this is not the case as there are less than 30 days left until her visitor status expires. What do I do?
The 30 days is not law. As long as her extension request reaches Vegreville before her status expires, it is fine.
