Hello my seniors,

Can someone please tell me how long it takes for a Professor in canadian universities to accept to supervise a student for his/her research work as a graduate student. Why i said this is because i have been writing to them at least for one prof to write me in return for over 4months now and i wish to commence with jan2009 set.

Thank you.

That totally depends on univ and prof. If prof needs a grad student now, he may accept you right now.
Has the prof guaranteed that he is going to accept you? If yes, then you should ask him. If you would be taking some courses then time of acceptance may also depend on when those courses would be available in uni.
But exactly how long will it take, only the prof or uni can answer precisely.
