Could somebody please help ? it is urgent . As I posted earlier in the forum( my landing experience)

We are living in USA and my friend sent that letter to us . Now the problem comes , as per our understanding even though we don't have PR card we go to Canada from USA at any time with the landing papers ( that's what even the guy at the time of landing confirmed ) , but now looks like we have to take Travel document to go there ? is it required from USA too even though we have landing papers ? If so Can I know how long it takes in Buffalo office ( I spoke to my friend he said if we go there we get on the same day) or from any office comes in a day ..?Because the period they have for us is 180 days and we were under impression we can go at any time , But suddenly we noticed it now and we have only 23 days left .
Please advise it is urgent
