Is there any way to get transcript from university without physically present there?
Means can we send marksheet copies to a friend and he apply to get a transcript. Also do they send it by post on request or we have to collect from there campus only?

Both can be done without having to be physically present there.

I assume your university has a Web Presence. If yes, their should be a link, where you can order the transcripts online and get it delivered in sealed envelopes  @  some cost of course.

In the UK where I am, it is not a problem at all. Most universities and colleges, if not all, charge about £15.00 to £30.00 and are ready to give you as many copies as you require including, sealed and addressed to the Office or person you want it to be sent to.

You have to say what country your university is situated and even maybe what university you attended. For example, I applied for my transcript from a university in another continent over the internet and I got it 3 weeks later. It cost me about US$10 but this is not the case with all countries, especially developing countries. So it really depends on where your university is and sometimes different universities within the same country have different rules.

Please don't expect me to answer if your post title has urgent in it and it is not really urgent. Urgent is 911 or you have a definite deadline tomorrow, not that you would like to send in the application soon

In India it shouldnt be a problem. They will send new copies out by post and in most cases, without a charge.

i had to get mine from an indian university while in the US. It is a long and harrowing process. No one in the administration at the university knew the process and they did it all wrong. Different universities seem to have different rules. Nothing a bit of money won't fix. Good luck to you.

all universities in India have a person dedicated to transcripts. Call your university's registrar's office. They will guide you to the right person. There's a nominal fee generally like Rs. 100-200 per transcript copy.

Send a written application with a DD included by courier to the person in the university. they will revert back with the trascripts in 3-5 weeks by post. Some universities may ask for additional Rs 50 towards courier charges.

I got transcripts from two universities.I applied on plain paper and submitted photocopies of marksheets, degree certificates, registration card, other relevent certificates and demand draft( at one university charge was Rs200 per transcript and at second unversity it was Rs 500 for one transcript). One can also apply by post.Different universities are having different timeline to issue transcripts some issues on same day and other may take 15 to 20 days

in my case i live in canada and i have my original certificates and transcripts for all of my degrees and the high school but after reading the check list for the local visa office (buffalo) i realized that they ask for the originals in a university sealed envelop. therefore, i had to ask my brother in my home country to go to the universities which i have studied in for the master and the bachelor and even the ministry of education for the high school transcript and the only condition was to be one of my family members and they asked him about his ID card. after that all of them have issued the transcripts inside their seald envelops included the ministry of education for the high school transcript and he sent them to me in canada it took almost 3 weeks by regular registered   mail to recieve them.

by the way, they haven't asked for any photocopy of the marksheet or any thing else. they only asked about the student number which is written on the top of the transcripts.
