99% positive since you are DM after PPR just wait for the PP to be returned. some experience 6mos (worst) waiting time in other visa ofc.

Usually takes 1-2mos. Be more patient.... your maple leaf is coming soon.

 Sad Hi Jalap,

really it is unfair!!. Hope justice will be done soon. You have waited all the five years ( only few months left!!) for the Canadian PR Visa. During these long period so many changes have also taken place!!.  any how you have a great patience and I hope everything would be fine in the very near future. You need to just think about the positive sides only and don't be a pessimist in this matter. I would say that there are possibilities for a very good news within the coming weeks because your passport is already in the embassy. I am not an astrologer but still I could imagine that this month could be your luckiest month!!. Be happy and relax. Wish you good luck again and again...

Well Jalap

"Unfair" is an essential ingredient of Canadian immigration policy.

As they say life is not fair and neither is Canadian immigration.

Having to wait almost 8 years for Canadian PR visa has brought so much pain and suffering to my life. Everyday passes with so much stress and confusion. And there is nothing I can do about it, except to wait. what I hate the most about it is that I have not been able to concentrate on my business and make it grow.

Now that a decision has been made in my application, the anxiety level is shooting up high. (I do not know whether it is positive or negative decision). It has been more than 6 weeks and still I have not received the passports back. I did send the Case Specific Inquiry to the ND VO, but no reply yet. If in case, lets say I get the PR Visas, I have so many arrangements to make.

I have been reading some of the posts and it is obvious that most of the members get their passports back immediately after the DM. Some even got their visas without the ECAS status changing to DM. How unlucky I am?  I really wish someone could tell me the possible reason for this delay in getting the passports back.

Awaiting justice with optimism.

Wrong??? Shocked

How do you explain this:
Top Priority Cases:
filed since 1 July 2011
Second Priority Cases:
26 June 2010 to 30 June 2011
Third Priority Cases:
filed 27 Feb 2008 to 25 June 2010
Last Priority Cases:
lodged before 27 February 2008

8 years wait vs 8 months..... how do you call that fair???
Canadian immigration policy is last-in, first-out.

Just because you benefitted from the queue-jumping does not make the Canadian immigration policies fair mate.

Actually there has been no confirmed communication from CIO or visa offices that post-July-2011 will be treated with greater priority than June-2010 to July-2011.

As per parliamentry instructions to visa offices, post-June-2010 applicants get priority - which includes MI-2 and MI-3 equally. Please remember that exactly the same rules and NOC list applies. The only thing that really happened on 1st July 2011 was that the caps reset.

Has anyone had any communication from CIC to the contrary, that MI-3 will get priority over MI-2?

add to the list - first CIC allowed applications between 28-Feb-2008 to 28-Nov-2008, then announced retrospective change in NOC codes  Shocked and returned many applications ! That was certainly not fair  Angry

No, it was certainly not fair. As are many things about this process.

But the wise man does not concern himself with things he can do nothing about. You can't change the system, only hope that CIC improve it. And they do at least seem to be improving it, albeit slowly.

The changes to even further restrict the intake of new applications, whilst some would view unfair that these are being processed before older applications - should at least recognise that those older applications will still get processed faster than if they allowed the unrestricted system to continue.

It IS getting better, because it's going to be a year or two before the benefits are fully visible.

It is heartwarming to know that some do empathise with those subjected to unfair policy of queue-jumping.  Smiley
