Agreed with this post.

Fear comes from failure
failure comes from competition
competition comes from rasing your expectation too much.

Why dont we create simplicity in our life.

Having too much luxuries in our life and competing everyone to chase these leading this world competitive.

Now days it is survival of fittest.

CANADA'S UNEMPLOYMENT RATE UP TO 7.5% IN DECEMBER

 http://www.tradingeconomics.com/canada/unemployment-rate

Published on 1/6/2012 2:06:59 PM  | By TradingEconomics.com, Statistics Canada

Following two months of declines, employment rose slightly in December, up 18,000. The unemployment rate edged up to 7.5% as more people participated in the labour market. Over the past 12 months, employment growth totalled 1.2% (+199,000), with nearly all of the gains in the first half of the year.

The employment growth of 1.2% from December 2010 to December 2011 followed an increase of 1.8% between December 2009 and December 2010.

In December, an increase of 43,000 in part-time work was partially offset by a decline of 26,000 in full-time employment. Compared with 12 months earlier, the number of part-time workers was little changed, while full-time employment was up 1.5% (+208,000). Over the same period, the total number of hours worked increased by 1.4%.

Among the provinces, employment increased in British Columbia, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, Saskatchewan, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island in December. In contrast, employment declined in Quebec, while there was little change in the other provinces.

There were notable employment gains in manufacturing for the month, while there were declines in utilities. All other industries showed little employment change.

There were 31,000 more self-employed workers in December. Compared with 12 months earlier, self-employment was up 2.0%, while the number of private sector employees rose 1.3%, and the number of public sector workers was unchanged.

Employment increased in December among people aged 55 and over. At the same time, there was a decline among youths aged 15 to 24, and little change for people aged 25 to 54

Canadian Unemployment at 7.4%

http://www.hrmguide.net/canada/jobmarket/canadian-unemployment.htm

December 4 2011 - Statistics Canada reported that the unemployment rate rose by 0.1% to 7.4% in November as employment fell by 19,000 - 53,000 part-time jobs lost compensated partly by more full-time jobs. Quebec and Saskatchewan showed employment losses in November while Nova Scotia gained jobs.

Seasonally adjusted, unemployment rates vary from 13.2% (Newfoundland and Labrador) to 5.0% (Alberta).

Rates for all the provinces were (previous month in brackets):

•   Newfoundland and Labrador 13.2% (12.9%)
•   Prince Edward Island 11.1% (11.2%)
•   Nova Scotia 8.6% (8.6%)
•   New Brunswick 9.8% (9.4%)
•   Quebec 8.0% (7.7%)
•   Ontario 7.9% (8.1%)
•   Manitoba 5.5% (5.2%)
•   Saskatchewan 5.1% (4.1%)
•   Alberta 5.0% (5.1%)
•   British Columbia 7.0% (6.6%)

Ken Georgetti, president of the Canadian Labour Congress said:
"Canada's economy is headed for a slow down, according to the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development and other expert observers.
"That means unemployment will remain high at a time when the Employment Insurance system is failing workers who lose their jobs. That has to be fixed and the place to begin is with the next federal budget."

CLC Senior Researcher Chris Roberts provided the following analysis:
"Canada's job market continued to sputter in November. Having been essentially flat since July, employment fell for the second consecutive month. The labour market lost a net 18,600 jobs, with all of the reduction coming in part-time work, which fell by 53,300. Many of these part-time jobs were among the self-employed, with 27,500 jobs lost from last month. Full-time jobs rose by 34,600 in November, making up only half of October's full-time job losses. The number of unemployed Canadians increased for the second straight month, climbing by 20,500 to 1,394,700. The unemployment rate rose to 7.4 % up from 7.3 % in October and 7.1% in September. While employment in manufacturing fell for the second month in a row (-7,300), job losses in November were concentrated in services (-43,900), particularly retail and wholesale trade (-34,100) and business services (-29,200)."

My home country statistic is:

           - 2011 - 20%
            -2012 - 22% (prospect)

Terrible. I have to make a move soon.

Good to see you here from the Balkans !

EU is sinking everyday. Yesterday Spain and Italy announced they'd sell some of their bonds.
What is your NOC? haven't you applied yet?

Hi jnathan  Smiley

Yes, EU is in crises. Check this speeches. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bOgtEBhV4DE
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fyq7WRr_GPg&feature=related

Yes I had applied but CIC refused my application because of job duties insufficiency and lack of reference letter from my supervisor. They didn't recognize my honest written explanation about the problem, and all other evidence (my colleagues reference letters, pension, health and bank slips, employment contracts) which I sent.  NOC is 1122.
However, there are some other options. I have received an open work permit under International Experience Canada program. I have to enter Canada until the end of June 2012 and can stay in Canada until the end of June 2013. That is my chance, because I can't get appropriate reference letter for my current job, so there is no point to apply for FSW1 for now.

What do you think, is it smart to leave a good payed job and go to Canada on 1 year open work permit???

Echoes1978,

Do you think these guys are really in EU! They are neither in nor out and everyone knows it. Few weeks before, one politician from German side had clearly welcomed and suggested the exit of a country if it doesn't like EU. Everyone knows the master powers behind EU and against it. One of the reason for the crisis is the strict financial set values and not all Euro zone members are equally capable to handle it. And still there are many countries benefiting from EU. Of lets stop this complicated econo-politics.

Try to gain an experience in Canada in your profession. I guess you will have a luck if you are from IT. And your experience will be useful everywhere, back in Europe or in North America. At least you will realise what you had back home or what more you have in your new life. But be careful don't damage the relation with your current employer in case you want to join back later.
