Our application was notified as received in by cic in april 2008. how long before it begins to be processed?

1.  Received where?  If Mississauga, 26 months.
2.  If approval received from Mississauga and application transferred to London, 5-12 months.

 Thanks,yes, in Mississauga.But on the application processing times link it only gives those timescales for applications submitted by 11th August 2006 and states that applications received after that are not in process yet.
Are you saying that notification of receipt signals the start of the processing? I had understood that applications received after February 2008 are currently frozen in the system but since it is already 26+ months since August 2006 might it be assumed that those received after that are now in process? All I need is some indication of whether the process is likely to have begun .Any thoughts?

Mississauga will not start to process the parental application for 26 months, so you won't have any response for approval/refusal until about August/2010

Thanks. Just to clarify then ,in or around August 2010 will be when ,if approved ,that the application is passed to London?

In the meantime if visiting as UK citizen for 6 months when can I return for a further 6 month visit? I have a daughter and son in law (my sponsors)  a son (PR status) and a grandchild in Canada with another grandchild on the way.
