I am sponsoring my wife from india, i have received a letter with UCI number on it , it says that you have met the sponsorship requirements and now your application is sent to New Delhi CIC office

I received this letter after 2 and half months after i sent the application


so i am curious to know what happens next and how long does it take to get the visa from new delhi office

Congratulation amvk, you have completed 1st stage and how the real waiting game begins. As for now, New Delhi takes roughly 6 months to process spouse sponsorship. Good luck Smiley

Oh ! 6 months , I thought the whole process will take 6 months , from the time application is sent , I sent application to CIC on aug 31 , 2011

As per CIC link posted by emmagil, step 2 time starts after step 1 is completed. 
"The tables below indicate application processing times at Canadian visa offices outside Canada once Step 1 has been completed."
Keep in mind that 6 month is an average time calculated based on previous applications so you might get is cleared faster. Smiley

hello,

My wife did get the Passport to new delhi on Feb 8th 2012 and have not get any reply from New delhi consulate.
My timeline is as follows

Sep 1 2012 - PR application
Nov 15th 2012 - approved as sponsor.
Jan 12th 2012 - got PPR.
Feb 8th 2012 - sent passport.
 Waiting for passport.

Any one with the same time ..please respond..getting worrried.
