Hi everyone, my common-law partner and I have been called to Buffalo Consolute for an interview.  We were told to bring our passports and birth certificates.  I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what type of questions or specific questions might the immigration officer ask?  Has anyone in here been through this process before in Buffalo?  Thanks for all your help.

Hello JacobDennis, would you mind sharing your timelines, I'm pretty much in the same boat, but I haven't received the date of the interview, I just received a letter back in August advising an interview will be required and will take place in Buffalo.

We are married, how long it took from the moment you received the letter until you actually received a date for the interview and how long it's been processing, we sent our application back in April, so we are almost at the 7 months mark, I had to do the Quebec processing as my wife is from Quebec and we intend to live there.

Hope everything goes fine for you and your partner, good luck!

NYQUE,

Timeline is as follows:

We received your application to sponsor ? on December 20, 2010.

We started processing your application on January 19, 2011.

We returned your application with a letter on January 19, 2011. You may re-apply or resubmit your application when the information requested is provided. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

We received the application that you resubmitted on February 25, 2011.

We sent you a letter on March 7, 2011 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

We received ? application for permanent residence on March 17, 2011 (in Buffalo, NY).

Medical results have been received.

? interview is December 7, 2011.

This information was copied and pasted right from the CIC On-Line status tool.  The question mark (?) is what I've inserted as my partner's full name was there.  I really hope this helps you understand the Buffalo timeline a little better!

Mymy, that's pretty cool!  They received both our applications just a few days apart.  I guess this shows that Buffalo is consistent with the information it presents on it's website for processing times...!  Maybe we should meet up in Buffalo...?

Hello, first good luck to both, I know this is a pain, now what I wanted to know is how long it took from when you received the letter saying an interview was required until they gave you a date? for your timelines I might going to wait a long time, I've been waiting almost 3 months to know the date of the interview, the same time I have been in Canada as a visitor.

I requested for the second time my GCMS notes just to know if there has been a movement of my process, how were yoiu notified of the date of the interview? by email?

Good luck!

Buffalo peeps facing an interview....you might want to also post in the Buffalo thread (http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/thread-for-outland-buffalo-applicants-t41886.0.html;msg1099888#msg1099888). It's quite rare for Buffalo applicants to be facing an interview so I'm pretty curious about your individual cases.
