Turist is a Temporary Resident Visa?

Hello !
I'm in Canada right now and I have a Study Permit that will end the 30 December 2011.

One months ago, my school compiled and send for me the documents in order to extend my stay in Canada as turist.
They told me that I will switch my status from Student to Turist.

So, Will I be Temporary Resident Visa?

Three types of Temporary Resident Visas (TRVs):

   Visitor
   Student
   Worker

You are a Temporary Resident Visa Holder (as a student, hence right now what you have in your possession is a Student Permit). Are you going to stop studying but wanting to stay in Canada longer? Then you'll have to apply to change your status from student to that of a visitor. If and when you do that you'll be given a visitor record.

You'll have to extend/send your application now before your current Student Permit expires and make sure that CPC-Vegreville receives your application before Dec 30, 2011.
