hi there,

i have a friend that would like to visit from south america.  on the tourism canada website it says that i can send her an invitation letter and proof of citizenship.  according to the visa office in south america, they said i need to send an employer letter and most recent t4 statement also?  are those required?  and can the letters, statements be photocopies (faxed) or do they need to be originals?

thanks in advance for your help.

Trinity, which office is this? I am from South America and in the office in Brazil they didn't ask me for any of these, only an invitation letter and a proof of citizenship/PR or legal status in Canada, if not PR or Citizen. I even though about sending it, but they said I shouldn't mind about it, only send my income, bank statement, etc. My husband sent me by mail a notorized invitation letter, plus a photocopy of his citizenship card and that was all, the rest was all up to me. Hope this works! Didn't get any answer from them so far. Sad
