TRV in-person @ Seattle Consulate

Has anyone applied in person at the Seattle consulate for a TRV?
Their website says atleast 24 hours. But how long do they take in reality. We don't live in Seattle. So how long do we have to wait in Seattle? Is it next day? Or more? Do they tell you when you apply when you should come back or do they call you when visa is ready? Can a friend who lives in Seattle pick it up for us? Or can they atleast mail it to us when it's approved?

Someone posted in another forum that they applied one day and was able to pick up visa the next morning.
