Hi
I am studying here since September 2009 for my Hospitality Degree. I have applied TRV(NEW-DELHLI) for my spouse at the end of October 2009 but was rejected, stating various reason. I believe that I've submitted every single documents need for TRV. Here are the summary of the refusal letter:

In reaching a decision, an officer considers several factors; these may include the applicant's travel and identity documents, reason for travel to Canada, Contacts in Canada, financial means for the trip; ties to country of residence ( including immigration status, employment and family ties) and whether the applicant would be likely to leave Canada at the end of his/her authorized stay.

I am not satisfies that you meet the requirements of the act Regulations for the reasons indicated below:

1. You have not satisfied me that you would leave Canada at the end of temporary period. In reaching this decision, I considered several factors, including:

a.      Your history of having contravened the conditions of entry on a previous stay in Canada (Huh)

b.      Your travel history (has been staying in Singapore 6 yrs)

c.       Your immigration status ( Huh)

d.       Your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence (Huh)

e.      Length of proposed stay in Canada (proposed length was 3 months)

f.        Purpose of visit (visiting spouse)

g.       Limited employment prospects in your country of residence (Huh)

h.      Your current employment situation (she has been helping her family business since last 6 months)

i.        Your personal assets and financial status (she didn't show any of her balance or assets)

2. You host in Canada has not demonstrated that he or she has sufficient funds to support your visit.

For the reason #(1), I am not sure which one has affected her visa application. BUT
For the reason #(2), I had demonstrated sufficient amount of fund; Canadian Bank and Nepal Bank

I would be great if someone could help me in this matter. Has anyone has been challenged in the same way?

P.S Just to let you know that there is a Remarks stated in my study permit saying: FUNDS SUFFICIENT FOR ONE YEAR STUDY ONLY.

Thank you

No.1 is the deal killer, either overstayed or worked during her last visit to Canada.

Then what is "a" in our above list of the reasons for refusal?

Hi PMM
This was stated in her letter and I too couldn't understand what the reason to state, since she has not visited Canada ever before.
