Hi,
My Canada WP and Visa are expiring on 10-Sep-2011. I have already applied for WP extension on 18-July-2011 and I am told that it will take at least 144 days to receive the extension.
I need to travel back to home country for some personal commitements in mid of October. But by that time I dont think that I will receive the extension.
Is there anyway I can travel outside Canada when extension of WP is in progress?

Please assist

Thanks

Nope, you'll lose your Implied Status as soon as you leave Canada. You will only be allowed in as a Visitor if you do not have your new work permit in hand.

I was in the same situation on 2008.
Of course you can go to your home.
When you come back on the airport one of the officers will give you your new Work Permit but you would have to pay to him 150$.for that.
Dont worry and happy flight!

You want to say while travelling back from Canada or reentering again?

When you reenter to Canada from your home, they will give you new work permit on the airport.
Immigration Offcer will print your new permit in his ofiice and he will ask 150$ from you to pay for that.He will see in his computer that you have new work permitt and give it to you.
Just go to your home and do not worry.Everything is easy and will be ok Cool
