I was trying to book travel insurance and some sites specifically mention that maximum insurance applied for immigrants is 60 days... (ex. insurancepandit . com)
Many websites for insurance do let you book for as long as you want but they don't ask you if you are an immigrant... they book you for temporary travel only...

Any comments? I need to book it for 3 months which is the waiting period in Toronto...

Just check the sites of Bajaj Allianz and TATA AIG. In the request form there is a question regarding your immigration status.

It depends what insurance you looking for.  If its travel insurance why dont you book it for only the duration of flight(to and return dates only), it costed two of us 18 pounds.  And then once you arrive into canada you have until 5 days to buy health insurance.  So here it will depend if you want insurance for 6 months whiles you are visiting or if you are a new landed immigrant you will need atleast insurance for 3 months which is called while-waiting time for OHIP to kick in Ontario.  Its actually upto you what you want to do, the 3months you could also buy before you arrive into canada.

Just check the sites of Bajaj Allianz and TATA AIG. In the request form there is a question regarding your immigration status.

I spoke to TATA AIG call centre rep and they said they do not offer travel insurance to immigrants.
ICICI site clearly says (in FAQs) that insurance for immigrants is for a max 60 days.
Similar is the case for other insurance companies too... I am still researching...

Just wanted to highlight so that anyone travelling from India for immigration should check with the insurance company before purchasing insurance... your immigration status might make you ineligible even if you have purchased a "normal" travel insurance policy...

The only success I have had is with Bajaj Allianz call centre... they offer individual travel policies for immigrants for 90 days... but if you want to buy it for family then the max is 60 days...
