is it necessary to translate the documents from a legal translator.
I have got the translation done from an individual and he has submitted an affidavit.because the instructions do not say tht translation is to be done by a legal translator.

Yes, the documents need to be translated by CERTIFIED TRANSLATOR which means that the translator has Certification/accreditation from organizations of his region.

Sorry for being a drag but kindly clarify,if the translation is done by a certified translator do we still need an affidavit from them as mentioned in the EG7 instructions.
also please clarify if the translated copy also needs to be certified.

I am in UAE and need to get my spouse' educational certificates / degree translated to English from Hindi. My spouse is not the principal applicant. I need to get some other documents also notarized, therefore thought of flying to India. I was just wondering if someone can please suggest me a couple of certified translators in Delhi who could provide translated documents as required for the purpose i.e. translation, affidavit etc.

You are not being a drag....dont worry about it.

Yes, you need an affidavit from the Translator.

Ok, once you get your document translated, then that's the  ORIGINAL TRANSLATED doc. It will remain to be just ORIGINAL TRANSLATED doc only as your other original docs. It should be Notarised to prove that it is original.

Don't tell me that you are flying to India just for Translation and notarization

I am sure you will get Translators and Notary Public in UAE.

I can not comment as I don't have any answers/info regarding where/who in Delhi can help you. But if you can create another thread titled " Info on Translators/Notary in Delhi/UAE", then I am sure you will get tons of response.
