Hi All,

My husband is a Canadian PR and I'm a Malaysian. Right now we are preparing the documentations for my PR application. So if I want to visit my husband while waiting for the PR application to be approved, is it possible to apply for Tourist Visa in the meantime? Because we don't want to jeopardize the PR application in case the Tourist Visa application would become the hindrance.  Roll Eyes

Appreciate your kind advice. Thanks!  Smiley

Applying for a tourist visa will not jeopardize your PR application.

You can try applying for a tourist visa but I think most times it is refused while the PR application is being processed in Malaysia.

Yeah, I've read about the same opinion and hope it works out. Thanks  Wink

This is what my husband afraids of  Sad . I wonder if this is based on their discretional power to grant you the visa while applying for the PR.

The assumption is, a visitor with a permanent resident application in process is likely to overstay.
