hello virgiemaricel!  Happy Easter!!!!!!!!!!  a few days more and u will be in a country everyone of us here have been dreaming of for a long time.  u have room reservation with safehomestay, right?  which particular location and napili mo?  I sent them an e-mail but to date wla pang reply. mind if i ask you to post ur feedback on the place pag andun na kayo? 

Naku, andami nang nabago sa plans namin. We won't stay in safehomestay na. If ever natuloy, sa North York kami sana.

Hi... need ng certification dyan from our LTO... the yung previous license natin..no need to get internatonal drivers lic..
Need to have ontario drivers handbook coz nandun lahat yung questions sa exam..
Take the 40 items exam and have at least 32 correct answers. thats it may license na agad

May kinuhang certificate ang hubby ko sa LTO pero yung about no accident, tapos pina authenticate pa sa DFA, kasi napapababa raw ang auto insurance pag may ganun certificate.

A letter indicating how long he has been driving. Should be DFA certified as well.

Had a few email exchanges with Carol of Safehomestay and she told me our family will stay in a private room with bathroom and other amenities and will not be shared with anyone. Shared kitchen and laundry areas though. Free to bring sterilizer also (for my baby's feeding bottle).

My kumare naman (Toronto-based) told me ihahanap daw nya ako ng ibang place. North York daw is far from Toronto. Ok lang daw ba kung room lang. I'm not sure though if the room has other amenities being offered by Safehomestay. If none, lagot. We are not ready to buy furniture and the likes. Mahirap kasi pag may baby tapos kulang-kulang ang gamit.

What airline are you booked? I'm considering Cathay Pacific. Booked until January 31. If I won't buy the tickets, baka tumaas pa ulit. Last month kasi, mababa ng 3K each adult ticket.

If I may butt in, expected naman ng immigration officer that we will bring in more than 10K dollars in case more than 2 ang family members na pa-land sa Canada. Sabi sa PDOS, we won't pay anything naman by declaring the truth. Wary lang sila sa "money laundering" activities. We should prepare our latest ITR daw as proof lang na may pinagkunan tayo ng money natin. 

Hi... in our experience at the Toronto Pearson Immigration, they ask how much money we bring.... they dont actually inspect the cash or cheque as long as you declare the required money for your family, and all would be fine...

No. Thats not true.. The insurance basis is on your Graduated License. If you'll gonna buy your car and your holding the G license, your monthly insurance will be lower. If your holding the G2, the higher the monthly fee in your insurance will be.

Get the certification letter from the LTO with bearing their letter header and seal indicating when was your first license issued, and your driving experince. The LTO already knows that when you request for certification.

i just wanna ask abt the show money. in ur case u brought $17,000. u have to declare that ur carryng $10,000 or more ryt? after declaring do we have to pay something or wala ra?

Good day everyone!

Sa mga nagland na sa Toronto, how many minutes/ hours did you spend with the Immigration officer? I'm the principal applicant. What else should I bring with me aside sa passports namin, COPR, money, what else pa ba?

it took us about less than 10 minutes with the Immig. Officer.  He just asked where we are staying and how much money we have.  He didn't even asked us to show him the money.  After writing them on the COPR, he asked us to sign them them, then we're done.  He also wrote something on our passports.  It was a very fast process.  Good luck!
