15 – 64 Age Group
In the 15 – 64 age group, for every 100 men, Canada has 102 women.

The provinces where the imbalance is greatest are Newfoundland/Labrador, Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia; all have more than 105 women for every 100 men.

There are more men than women in Alberta, Northwest Territories and Nunavut. Alberta has 102 men for every 100 women. Northwest Territories and Nunavut have more than 105 women for every 100 men.

Probably you can also remind the CHC  and VO's about this statistics... Not sure the actual ratio (M:F) of current CAN IMM applicants but they should now allow (issue visa) for 2 male applicant for every 1 female applicant gets through to homogenize the ratio.... but at the same time.... CAN need to innovate the biotechnology to facilitate the XY gametes to dominate and survive to ensure the equilibrium and then to lead ahead.....I am sure many of our applicants (sisters) might have different opinion!!!

Well said Fariza but this biotechnology can take years to arrive. At the moment they need manual checks to get more men in than women.

 @  Pitta
U can take a look at these statistics.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/research-stats/facts2009.pdf
See the page 44.
Bad News for singles willing to migrate to Canada.
About 31,000 single males and 26,000 single females migrate as permanent residents each year. So 5,000 of single male applicants are less likely to find any female.
On the other hand about 5000 widows or divorced females migrate to canada each year so there is a chance.
Regarding the total married applicants number of male and female applicants is not equal. there is a difference of about 1000
(HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE   Shocked )
But the answer is there. These are not only married couples but common law parteners as well.

I think this imbalance have is insignificant in a country where same sex marriages are legal.
