I checked that I may not be eligible to be a sponsor if I have received government financial assitance for reasons other than a disability. Does this mean that I am not eligible if I have received OSAP?

OSAP is student loans/scholarships, it is not public assistance and has no effect on sponsorship.

You can't be on welfare or mother's allowance.

Most people that have gone through the Canadian education system have had some form of OSAP.

Good luck,
