(4) What is included in the medical examination?
A medical examination by a DMP includes a mental and physical assessment, a medical assessment of records respecting a person and any additional test(s) the DMP or Canadian Medical Officer determines is necessary in order to reach an informed decision regarding your medical condition.
• All applicants 5 years of age and over must submit a urine sample.
• All applicants 11 years of age and over are required to have a chest X-rav. An x-rayis required for children under the age of 11 if medical history or clinical examination indicates there is a need or if there is evidence of tuberculosis in the family. Abnormal X-rays may require further views and additional testing.
• All applicants 15 years of age and over, and children under the age of 15, who have received blood or blood products, have a known HIV positive mother, or are potential adoptees, must submit a blood sample.
