Timelines for Damascus office

Hello All, thought to share my time line as well. I am sponsoring my husband from Iraq (his file is in Damascus as well) I am in canada.

Time line as follows----2009

Sent Application to Mississauga-April 27
Letter came to me (sponsor)- August 27 approval to sponsor
Sent to Damascus office on August 27
Application received and IN PROCESS-September 8

Until now...no news-just waiting

Hello All
I got a call from Damascus Syria this morning and the lady on the phone said she is calling from Canadian Embassy in Syria. She said tell your husband to come to the embassy because the visa is ready for him!!!

My question to you is this..... You send application on April 27th, 2009 and you got the answer in August 27th, 2009?

Also am i to understand correctly that you got the visa within 2.5 months? Sept 8th till Nov. 22nd? if that is corrent that is great new for us that we are still waiting.

Thank you to all of you---yes i am still in shock and very HAPPY-alhamdullah. Your  turns will come just be patient ok? Yes, when i sent my application to Mississauga they had to send it to further verification cuz in the past i had already sponsored someone-and 3 months later (april-august) was eligible to be a sponsor yes. That took a lot of my time ! Thank god my husband was approved in 2 months and 2 weeks. Damascus is working really hard to try to get as many people out before x-mas--so people out there---be ready any time you can get a call!!! :0)

If your application is organized and neatly presented and all the documents are there which they asked for YOU SHOULD BE JUST FINE :0)

Nola like Times said be patient everything that you need to know about your Application would be on the internet. If its in Damascus and its  in Process E-Case will tell you.  Good luck...

when I am calling the immigration center in Canada , the answer machine said ...  enter the Client # , is that way I can use it to check the statue of the application ?

Sorry guys i haven't come back to answer your questions, i've been too excited going out and shopping for new items for our new house together hehehe. Well, Nola, to answer your question yes , just go online and where it says CHECK MY APPLICATION STATUS type in your client id number for you which i assume you are the sponsor right? and for the applicant it should be your husband and there is a file number for him. As soon as your file goes to Damascus...they will send you a letter saying they have received your file ok? with the letter should come a file immigration number. I hope this helped you so far and i know others have been really helpful too on this forum. And there there's nothing to it really...you just have to sit tight and wait hopefully you'll hear something by the end of the year GOOD LUCK!!

As soon as your file goes to Damascus...they will send you a letter saying they have received your file ok? with the letter should come a file immigration number.

do you mean by this the sponsorship approval letter ?

something else... when I have checked the status of the application it says on.....started process >>
is that mean I do not have to do anything now ..only waiting ... ??
