As i told in earlier post, its not a problem how much funds u take with u. I am saying this as my cousin landed on toronto airport last month, 26th march. n she told me they don't even ask how much money u r taking. But still u can keep the funds into ur account n take a debit card with you.

by chance if they ask you about funds u can tell them u have plastic money with you & can withdraw anytime.     n give a cheque to ur friend who will withdraw money. hope that will solve ur problm.

means i can transfer funds to my home country day after my landing right?

i understand that passport was returned to you in the 2nd week of march 2012, but i am not able to figure out weather you have re submitted the passport or still with you. As far as education of your son, please continue his education till you get the visa and do not disturb his academic year in the hope of continuing his education in Canada. I did the mistake of thinking that way, i was nominated and CHC ND is processing my application since March 2010.my son's academic year spoiled and in 2010 i have to put him in the distance education.
Thus spoiling his six month and also compromised with distance education instead of regular.
my advise rather request to you is, do not plan his continuous education in Canada till you get the visa.

I don't understand why they returned your passport and without visa for the reason that you might need it for travel although you said you did not asked them. So what steps did you take to address this. What do you think could  be the reason why they returned your passport? Hope for the best for you.

Thanx for your encouraging reply. Refer to my quote # 2219 on page number 148 (for letter they had sent to me along with passports) and 2222 page number149 (complete time line of my file). They did not ask for re-submission of passports yet. Time line of CHC is going to complete in May, 2012. Only problem is academic session of my both sons i.e. for Graduation first year and 10+1. Really in hot water?? but still also and

My passports have been returned by CHC in the month of March 2012 and are still with me, because they have mentioned in their letter "WHEN WE NEED THEM WE WILL REQUEST THEM AGAIN". Hence, I will not submit them till the CHC requests them again.

right.. unless they ask do not submit passport.
processing of your application can not be stopped. but i think you send one letter (not email) mentioning that, you are waiting for the instruction to resubmit the passport.

No, we did not do any mail/inquiry regarding our case. We were pursuing some courses and we only updated them the results of those courses. I think they wanted to give us some break from studies and that too a long and far away one (may be abroad)....................lol ................but they neither gave us the  visa for canada or tickets for some other country..........c'est dommage!(see we learnt french also).........

After ur sponsors interview, it takes about 20 days to take a decision & another 20-25 days to reach concerned documents to india(PB).
So i think u need to wait for another 10-15 days & then contact them.
