Permanent Resident Card
Newly arriving permanent residents (once Canadian mailing address is provided)
30 days

Please note: Due to an extraordinary circumstance related to our electronic scanning system, PR card processing times have increased significantly. We are working quickly to fix this problem and apologize for any inconvenience it causes. Once the technical issues have been resolved, we will make every effort to clear the backlog of files and reduce processing times.

Is the design of the new PR Card significantly different from the old one? I mean starting Aug 2009, there was change. Is this a lot diff from the pre Aug 2009 days?

It contains the same information, but the design/layout and colors are very different.
