Hello All,

I am planning to apply for MS program in Canada. I have all the documents from my side (educational)...

However I am little concerned about my financial support... My father is supporting my education and I also hav a scholarship which will cover all my tution fees...

My father owns a business and has around 2.5M in his bank account to support me... Is that enough ??

Do I need to send the business / tax documents on the first run ? I am thinking of only sending Letter of support from my father + Bank Statement for 4 months + Letter from Bank stating current balance in my account ..

Will this be ok? what have you guys sent on the first time ?

Thanks
Ali

inquiry001

let me clarify my situation...

Min balance since last 4 months is almost 1.5M in my fathers bank account plus he has saving certificates of around 1.2-1.3M since last couple of years.... his current bank balance is around 3M plus 1.2-1.3M Saving Cert.... the only problem is that there is not any major turnover in his bank account... since he is retired

secondly i am self-employed since last 3 years and my current salary is around 60k/month, but the problem is i have not maintained any bank balance in my bank account but i can show/prove my employment, salary slips, tax papers etc...

another thing is there is a cousin of mine who is Dir of some big company and I can show him my sponsor aswell... he has the proper bank account, bank stmt, proof of each n everything....

Now plz advice what suits my situation best....

Hey Raj!

It would be best if you could get a statement from your cousin stating that he'll sponsor your studies and everything else!!

Thanks for the prompt response....

Wel in that case what are my chances of getting visa? btw my cousin is also from pak.

2ndly ain't it be better if i show the bank balance of my father (i can easily manage to show around 4.5-5M) and show him retired? this way i wont even have to proof the bank stmt n all that.. no??

u need to show money for 1 year which includes ur tuition fee+$CAD 10000 for living, its better if u show more money than 1 year. I suggest for both 2 years.

Hello PakStd,

I think the money you will show is more than enough. Generally people send the last six month's bank statement, and need to prove that they will be able to afford their tuition and stay abroad without having to work to support themselves. Having a scholarship will also work in your favour.

However be ready to plan out your application very well. All us Pakistanis are concerned about is the money we need to show and forget the most important aspect; the reason why we're applying. Write a well-written, detailed letter stating your goals in life, your reason for opting for an MS; the benefits of a Canadian MS to your career and job prospects back in Pakistan.

Curving your application towards your main intent will do wonders. Focus the application more on what you have done in life and what you want to do further and how the MS is going to help you get there.

Hello Lith,

Thanks for the response... I have around 4 years of work experience and applied for MS in the similar domain... I have also prepared letter of intent... I think tht side of my application is pretty convincing...

I was only worried about the financial... ties ... bla bla .. What else can I show them to strengthen my app...

Thanks

hey all!!

In my opinion any writing that is not required for study permit and is especially for convincing the officer could have a wrong impression.. I am sure that the visa officer will not read ne irrelevant letters if you are financially weak or your ties are not strong! I am not saying it is a bad thing to write a letter, just dont write to convince the officer. Write just to show your purpose of going to canada for higher education.
