Hi!
Help will be appreciate it from everyone in the same boat! My husband and I applied on Feb 23rd (documents received in Mississauga) through Buffalo, I live in Quebec and he's in California. Everything up to now was approved (sponsorship, medicals, fingerprints) We received a letter from Buffalo saying our file is in a queue awaiting list and that an interview will be scheduled soon. Does anyone has an idea how long it takes after the receiving of that letter till Buffalo really schedules an interview?
Thank you for sharing your timeline? Smiley

Does Buffalo interview a lot of people who are specifically moving to Quebec?  I haven't heard of many other people in the States being called for interviews.  I assumed it had something to do with us being neighbors and visa-exempt, but I guess not.

Sorry to hear you have an interview. It took a month of waiting for me to get an e-mail from Buffalo letting me know when the interview was. Then I got a letter about 1 week later with further information. So you know when you get your letter with the date you will need to fax buffalo with the letter they send checking the box that you WILL attend the interview, if you do not respond fast enough they will cancel the interview. (If i remember right they want at least a 2 wekk notice that you will come.)
The letter also indicated things I need to bring with for the interview such as original divorce decree, passport, proof of relationship, ect.
My interview is in 11 days on Jan 31st so I will make sure to post my experiance so you have some idea of what to expect. I guess the worse part of the interview is not knowing why they want it. Is is due the relationshio, security concerns, ect. I am thinking I may have an interview because I am Muslim but I am not sure.

I would suggest you order your CAIPS notes to see what the immigration officer wrote about your file. It may let you know the reason for the interview. The notes take at least 1 month to recieve and in my case I ordered them 2 months ago and still have not recieved them. SO I still have no idea why I am having the interview. I wish you luck.

Hi guys,
I had received a letter on January 18,2011 that I need to appear for an interview  and since then there is no communication from Canadian embassy at Buffalo. I am student in USA and my wife (Canadian PR) has sponsored me and she is about 6 months pregnant. Should I send an email to Buffalo office stating that my wife is pregnant and I want to be with her during these critical days.
Please give me an exert advice whether or not I should do this.

They dont take a pregnancy as a reason to expedite. Youre going to have to wait this one out.

It cannot hurt to inform them of the pregnancy and it may help with getting a interview date sooner. The fact that she is pregnant might also be seen as a positive about your relationship being genuine. I informed Buffalo that I was pregnant (I am not the sponsor) and I am not sure if it helped or not with the interview date. It took them 1 month the inform me of the date and 1 1/2 months from then for the date of the interview. So I waited a total of 2 1/2months to have my interview.
