You won't get a call from CIC. You will be notified  by a decision letter [ if you are approved as a sponsor]. You can also login to ecas and check status by using receipt number, sponsor last name, sponsor date of birth and country. You can start login 3 weeks after the application is received.

https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/?app=ecas&lang=en.

Once the sponsor is approved your file will be transferred to the visa office abroad to analyse if the relationship is genuine between sponsor and applicant. This step is usually longer and harder to be approved since the visa office abroad analyze if the relationship is genuine depending on what you had provided as evidence.

Good luck!!!

U applied as a famer as in the skilled worker section? If so you might want to check that forum for better info on timelines.
