Guys, after getting PR, how long is it necessary to stay in Canada ?

Can one go to Canada for 10-15 days and be back to their home/work country for some months OR
one has to shift immediately in order to validate their Canadian permanent residency?

You can return to your home country immediately. To keep your PR status, you must live in Canada for 2 out of every 5 rolling years.

And what if i am applying for PR from my home country ?

How many months or days will I have to go to Canada after receiving my PR and for how long do I need to stay there to keep my PR status ?

It makes no difference regardless where you apply from.

After getting the status, it's up to you how many days or years to go to Canada but to keep your status, you must live in Canada for 2 out of every 5 rolling years.

After you get your CoPR, you have 18 months to complete your landing procedures. So within 1.5 years, you have to visit Canada.

Okay, thank you so much Scylla, Maverick and Steaky!! :)

@Maverick - hey, Maverick! I have been following your posts on this forum since quite some time now and was wondering if you'd mind me asking you something about your PR application because I have known a similar problem.

So, if you don't mind, may I ask you the reason for still being waiting for ITA despite of your CRS score being much more than the last cut off ? Don't they issue ITA by default if an applicant falls under the CRS score limit?

1, Wrong information. You have to "land" within the validity of the COPR which is 1 year from the date of the medial or the expiry of the passport, whichever comes first,

For me they have given only 40 days to land in canada. 18 months, 1 year, 6 months, 3 months are all based on their personal experience. I got only 40 days, literally just 40 days. Am rushing now to make a journey with my 5 months old infant

This is incorrect. You will have less than a year to land. Anywhere from a few week to a few months.
