Tips for a successful BOWP application

Someone please help, I am applying for my BOWP as my current PGWP expires in April. I have received AINP and AOR as well. Do I need to upload the AINP letter along with the above mentioned documents under letter of explanation? Please advise. Thanks in advance.

Hey, I was in the exact same situation as you. Since I applied for my BOWP based on the AOR and not PNP, I just mentioned in the LOE that I had received a PNP but not applying for BOWP through it.

I didn't attach the PNP letter so the officer doesn't get confused.

The application form needs document number of the original work permit. there are so many numbers on the permit, which one is the document number. UCI? Application? or the number in red at the right top corner of the permit. please advise.

I gave the document number from my work visa and not work permit.

It asks for the most Recent Visitor Record and you can also includes "temp resident permit" (which is the work visa).

The work visa has a document number on the top right.

I Applied my PR under Provincial Nominee Program got my AOR recently and WP expiring soon

I need answers under these two questions below:-

1. Have you been told by an Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada office that you are approved in principle for permanent residence in Canada?

2.Do you have a written job offer?

You received your AOR, so the answer is Yes.

2.Do you have a written job offer?

I believe this one is in case you have a LMIA. Not sure, though.
I don't have one, so I replied No.

For question # 2 aboove; you have to answer "No" in your case. This is only for LMIA applicants.

I've got a quick question. I'm applying for the BOWP under the CEC and I'm having trouble with Question 3:

I am applying for one or more of the following:
1. A work permit with the same employer
2. Restoration of your status as a worker
3. An initial work permit with a new employer
4. Temporary Resident Permit

I have a PGWP which is obviously an open work permit, it isn't with any specific employer. Which one(s) of the above apply to me?

Need Help --


I am applying for BOWP for myself and my Spouse.

PNP - Inland (Ontario) - AOR on 29th November.
Medical - passed / Eligibility - Met / Criminal - Passes

My PGWP expires on 16th June 2017.

When I filled in the details for my BOWP, it gave me an option for Restoring the status for my Spouse and it is charging $200 for the fees on top of Work permit fees.

I am not sure if I have to Yes to Restoring the Status or not.

Later on the form, you will be able to choose "open work permit".

AOR = Feb 22, 2017
BOWP Applied = March 10, 2017
BOWP Approved = April 27, 2017

Hello Guys,

I'm new to this Forum and I need some help. I hope one of you can help me with my situation.

I've got OINP and have also applied for PR under express entry just a month ago. I've less than one month of WP left. I want to apply for BOWP but I'm confused with the process. How can I apply for BOWP for me and my wife? Do I need to file 2 separate applications or it goes under my application as I'm the main applicant.

If somebody can guide me with the tips and instructions also if anyone can help me with LOE that would be great.
