regarding the settlement for the newcomers.. the HRDC is taking many steps to make the newcomers to get settled well, so that they can improve the economy of the nation...

I even read some where in the CIC website, that they pick some potential candidates for public service works kind of temporary worker for three months so that the candidate can learn the work culture in canada.. moreover they also sponsor some training's to make the newcomers get settled for a job equivalent to their knowledge or skill sets..

do we need to get registered at HRDC?? ??? is it recruitment or employment agency?? can we get registered online or need to be inside Canada? i need that training for sure because i have no work exp. ???

Normally they will give us a new comers kit while landing and in the meantime we need to fill our details in another kit and give it to the officer...

the newcomers kit will have all the details like job portals, websites, where we can enhance our language skills if required etc.... it depends on the state where we are moving.. the details am giving are followed by Ontario...

My timeline are more or less similar to u. I will soon update it in my profile. So i am not that much experienced person about career in Canada. I am expecting some senior people who already landed there and want to help juniors like us.

My ECAS status shows in process since June 15 and ND has my passport since Feb 2nd week, we came to know through MP that N is waiting for Background and security checks do you know how long will it take , my wife is here with me and we were thinking of going to ND embassy personally and enquiring with them directly as to why is it taking so loong can you suggest something ? we really hope we could go back together .

thanks zeeshayn for your good wishes yes it was really a long wait and i learnt a lot about CIC processing during this period and sharing my exp. with new members to help them. i did some mistakes with my application and dont want others to make same mistakes
new delhi is moving fast now, you all will get your visa soon

hi rehan,
background checks are all about travel and work history, do you have lot of travel history or work history?? BC are conducted by a canadian security agency (CSIS) and once CIC sent your info to CSIS, CIC has no control over time period. you dont have any option except waiting but i think 2 months are more than enough for checks.
if you want you can send enquiry to CSIS and they will reply within 30 days but i think you will get DM before that

i received my passport back this morning after waiting for exactly 200 days .
thanks everyone for your help and support throughout the whole process! we are not planning to move yet, so we will be on the forum most of the time, until you all get your visas!

waiting waiting....... In our case the documents sitting in ND over 6 months. In process since June 28th. interview was only done because they want to verify the marriage and see more pics. I dont know whats the hold up? according to VO all BC done. sent an email to ND and no replies yet. MP stating still in background check, go figure. total time up to date is 10 months....

No travel history. Interview was done becuz of this is my wife's second marriage. They were satisfied with interview. She works for central gov of India, al though all papers submitted even NOC (no objection certificate). Still this is a long drama. Who can I complain about this?

My wife landed in Canada last week, I wish everyone get their visa ASAP, We experienced the bitterness of Waiting for 9 long months .
