It does not matter who the carrier is for insurance as long as it meets the requirements for the super visa which is $100,000 of coverage for one year. The issue is will the company pay claims and what is covered. I deal with five insurance carriers, I do not find Manulife to be as competitive as some of the other carriers. If you are looking for super visa insurance I will be happy to assist you and provide the best policy at the best price.

I am looking for something which would definitely cover pre-existing conditions and which would not care about the "stable", and beak of travel is allowed (i mean multiple entry is allowed, e.g. if my mom leaves after 5 months and returns after 2 months, I would like to make sure that the coverage is still valid for 1 year minus 5 months.). I am not sure if there any insurance like this yet. I am searching...

I bought from Manulife for my in-laws and they both got super visa without any issue. The whole visa application process took around 25 days.
I guess your in-laws applied from Bangladesh.

Anyway, one of the Bangladeshi insurance brokers from Danforth Village (Toronto) told me that few people had to change their Manulife insurance policy during processing. The reason was that the VO did not like 'Emergency Medical' written in bold on the policy. It sounds stupid but they finally got Super Visa after he changed the insurer from Manulife to other. He also added that not all Manulife cases had same fate. I've met this broker personally and he seemed honest, not that he had any personal preference for any.

I just wanted to share.

Most insurance policies I've seen will see if your mother was "stable" for last 6 months in order to be eligible for pre-existing conditions. If you worry about any health situation that can make your mother seek health service in Canada and want these conditions written in words from an insurer; your premium will be lot higher (3~5 times). But if you choose to get the regular policy (i.e. GMS, Manulife etc.) with "stable" pre-existing condition; the rate would not differ as stated online/ on policy. The latter is obviously cheaper and good enough for getting Super Visa; but may be hard to claim in future for any medical situation that incurs from pre-existing condition. Now, you have to make your own choice.

Coming to your second point, my mother has similar situation as she decided to go for Hajj (Muslim pilgrimage) this year. Lot of the insurance companies will allow multiple-entry; but you also have to know it from POE. I still don't know if POE officer will want to see minimum of 1-year medical insurance valid for each entry a parent/grand-parent will make. Moreover, most PG-1 holders are getting only 6-month stay permit at POE (not reaching maximum of 2 years).

My mother has just received her passport back from VFS (www.vfs-canada.com.bd) with Super Visa. The visa is valid for 5 years as same as the passport.

SUPER VISA TIMELINE (According to Visa Application Tracker):

Application recevied (with Passport): March 29, 2012
Medical requested (Passport returned): April 5, 2012
Passport re-submitted (after doing medical): April 11, 2012
Passport processed (ready to pick-up): April 22, 2012
Passport delivered (in-person): April 25, 2012

My mother picked her passport today as stated in VFS Tracker. The visa was stamped on April 19, 2012. So, the whole process was pretty fast (3 ~ 4 weeks).

BRIEF BACKGROUND:

We're family of 3 (my wife, mother & myself). Both my wife and I got our PR through PNP last year. My mother applied for TRV twice before and got rejected on both occasions. She is 53 and on medication for diabetes, hypertension and hypothyroidsm.

DOCUMENTS SUBMITTED FROM MY SIDE:

(1) Notarized invitation letter along with detail info of the inviter (myself) and the invitee (my mother).
[This letter has all info with some emotional touch]

(2) Another notarized letter with heading "Declaration of Support"
[This one is short and looks like an affidavit ]

(3) Copy of my passport
[Identification pages up to Canada Immigration Visa page]

(4) Copy of my birth certificate

(5) Copies of PR cards of both my wife and myself

(6) Copy of my 2011-NOA
[Shows my gross income to be $68,000 whereas LICO for 3 persons stands at $34,646]

(7) Copy of my 2011-T4(s)

(8 ) Original employment verification letter
[Shows my current income to be $72,000]

(9) Copy of my latest #10 pay-stubs

(10) Original bank statement along with 6-months transaction record
[Shows my bank assets to be $30,000]

(11) Medical insurance (with pre-existing conditions) papers
[Bought it from GMS which consisted of policy confirmation page, money receipt & policy wording]

DOCUMENTS SUBMITTED BY MY MOTHER:

(1) Full application (with original passport & photos)

(2) Original employment verification letter

(3) Original vacation approval for 8 months from her employer (No Objection Certificate)

(4) Original bank statement

(5) Copies of FDR(s)
[Equivalent to $25,000]

(6) Copy of passport

MEDICAL EXAM:

As my mother is both diabatic and hypertensive, the doctor asked for an additional test (ECG) at time of the exam. So, we did. Medical result was forwarded to Canada Consulate by themselves. We re-submitted my mother's passport as told the following day.

FEW NOTES:

At time of application submission, we were told not to submit any property papers. So, we didn't show any. But they checked my mom's original FDR(s) against the copies.

I hope this will help people accumulating papers for Super Visa. For any concern, feel free to ask me. Thanks.

Thanks Farima.

My mother has been staying with us for last 2 and half months. She is leaving just after the Eid as she is going for Hajj this year. That makes me sad again.

Please, keep her in your prayer so that she can come to Canada again next year.

Dear Rossei, my brother sent soft copy of his 3 months' bank statement from Canada which I will include with the application package. will it suffice or I need his original statement?

I will also include a copy of FD of my mother. Should I notarize the copy? And the FD is of BDT 5 lac. Will it suffice? Could you gimme an idea about the minimum amount of fund that we should show? Actually all the expenses will be born by my brother. So is it really necessary to show fund owned by my mother? FYI,I will also include a property valuation report of my mother.

Another thing, original passport should be sent initially with the application package right? At first I thought I'll have to submit a copy of passport first and the original should be provided after the medicals & passport request.

Thanks for your info. As you already informed everything on this forum, would you be kind enough to inform about the invitation letter and declaration of support you prepared? You could exclude your personal info if you want to inform us. How much are you paying per month for insurance premium? It would be helpful for others to get a clear idea about what to write on those letter.
