About to start a year of work through the Young Professional visa. Planning to do this for a year while saving up money to study,
then study nutrition or similar for a year here in Canada. I read that 1 year of studying gives you the chance of a 1 year work permit, so when I am done with the studies I figured I would apply for this and the PNP visa (skilled immigrant) as I would have 2 years of supervising experience in the country by then (thanks to Working holiday + YP).
Is a year work permit enough or does the PNP sometimes take longer? (as you have to have a valid permit throughout the Pnp application)

Really want PR in Canada.
I just wanna make sure that this is a good way to go before I use my only YP and dedicate my money and the next 3 years to this.
So if anyone has anything to add, if theres anything I havent thought of etc please let me know!

If u were to do 2 year program - u would be eligible for 3 year Post Graduate Work Permit

1 year PGWP is barely enough. U graduate and if u lucky u get a job, SINP can take 2-3 months and another 2 months to get AOR. Then u can apply for closed work permit.

I would be able to get any kind of job tho on a PGWP, not just something in the area of what I studied?

Sorry, whats SINP and AOR?

Yes, PGWP is like an open work permit. U can get any job. The only big difference between PGWP and open work permit is that U cannot extend PGWP. For example, u got PGWP for 3 years. That's it. If needed u can apply for closed or bridging work permit in the process of permanent resident. There is a problem here though. U need to have permanent full time job (not contract) to be able to apply for Saskatchewan Immigration Nominee Program (SINP) in Skill level 0, A or B. For example, if u get diploma and get job at Tim Hortons's u might not be qualified
