I don't think it necessarily follows that route nowadays. From my caips notes, security and criminal checks were done first before medical request.

I agree. I know few people who got their medical request almost an year ago, but still havnt received any response from CIC. They told me their files were transferred to Ottawa from Buffalo after their MR, and have gone way down in the pecking order.

It makes more sense if all these background checks are done before the MR. Another person I know had to wait almost an year to receive his MR because his file went into a background check.

My question regarding security check: Is it enough to submit update police certificate? If PCC is OK then how they proceed? How long the process need to finish? Please share if someone have idea.

Dont they do these checks when issuing study/work permits? I dont get why they have to be done at these applications. I have lived in Canada for 7 years now, and these checks are only done after applying for PR?

Crazy, right? I agree. The checks should be done at the point of entry. If they need to redo them for the purpose of PR fair enough, but they should at least be doing them for people they are allowing to stay in the country for long duration's of time!

Hi all ,
I have applied for a work permit application as I am a provincial nominee by Ontario , I have applied my application on 27 of JAN 2013 , and medical was sent on 20 Feb 2013, I have received a call from My visa office in Amman confirming that they have received the medical result and now they are waiting for the security check which (as they said) will take 3 weeks , and till now I heard nothing from them , I am afraid that this is a long story that takes months and months ,because Ontario gave me 1 year to apply for the work permit

Please share any information you have regarding security check for work permit application

I have some questions... my application has a staus "further background verifications " since sep 2011 after returned my pp back without a visa issuance. and before 2 months I redid the medical again.

Is there any chance for refusal after medical? And how long it will take as average after medical done ?

If refusal, is there any chance for appeal ?? And how ??

All replies would be highly appreciated.

the canadian embassy sent me a letter telling me that my application is under further background verifications ...

My medical was done in Sep 2012 and I am still waiting for next step

Whenever I asked status , I get reply that Background check in process. Can it possible that they reject my application due to this wait time.

Is there is anything which I can do

Yup.

Chances are they looked at your eligibility 7-8 months in.

Then mr. Then pcc.

It happens - very little time is actually spent processing these applications.

Sorry to hear all these cases.
Mine too is delayed sort of.
I completed my medicals on November 2012. They asked me to sent my biodata and RPRF in April 2013. And as per my latest GCMS notes, it says Final : Approved.
Location as PR Printing. (Date updated is May 2012).
Still, I havent recieved any PPR from them. And I get no responses when I email them. Really dont know what goes around in their offices.
