Back-end developer (Montreal)

Seamless Planet is the worlds first global distribution system for independent and large travel companies that offer tours and activities. We host the largest collection of tours and activities available on the internet and are working on ambitious projects that are transforming the travel industry by using cutting-edge technologies such as Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing and Deep Learning.

➔ Key Responsibilities:
You will participate in the development of our backend system that glues all other components together through a secure RESTful API. There are opportunities to work on exciting pieces that are based on Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing.
➔ Required skills:
• Strong algorithm design and problem solving skills
• Expert knowledge of REST architecture and API design
• Expert knowledge of Ruby, RoR & test frameworks
• Knowledge of Machine Learning and Python
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases
• Experience with i18n & L10n
• Linux, command line, shell scripting, Git
➔ Bonus skills:
• Scrum and agile methodologies
• Knowledge of Multithreading, Celluloid, Sidekiq, etc
• Knowledge of Async programming, Eventmachine, etc
• Knowledge of functional and event based programming
• JavaScript and AngularJS and the relevant test frameworks
• HTML5 and the latest W3C standards
• CSS3, LESS/SASS, Bootstrap
• UX Design
• OS X
• Vim
