Hello, i'm a Canadian Citizen moving back to Canada with my family and was wondering how much coverage i should get while waiting for OHIP. Is $100,000 too much or can i get by with only $50,000. Nobody in my family has a medical condition. Anyone with suggestions or experiences? Thanks in advance.

Well, it is always recommended to get as much coverage as you can afford and feel comfortable paying for. $100,000 or $50,000 is a usual coverage amount people, especially young one, would go for, if they need an insurance policy for a relatively short time period, say 3-6 months.

You may calculate a personal quote and see the prices form most Canadian private medical insurance providers with different coverage amounts, deductible options, etc., if you follow the link below.

Hope it somewhat helps :D

Don't forget to allow for the unforseen, such as a car accident... $50,000 would not cover very much.
