expensive or not?
Expensive in comparison to what? Your questions are far too general for anyone to answer with any useful information.

You can easily do this research yourself if there are specific medications you are interested in. Just google the medication name and the average price in Canada.

You may bring prescription medication to Canada if it was issued to you and is in it's original packaging and you are only bringing up to 3 months worth of it.

If there is a medication you take on a regular basis, google the name of the medication as well as price and Canada and you will have some idea about how much it will cost.

Health care in Canada does not cover medication but you may have a supplementary insurance through work or through your university that covers a portion of it. Prices of medication are regulated in Canada so they are cheaper than they are in the US but they could be more expensive than they are in your country.
