On the CIC website, it says:
In general, you and all the people in your family who are 18 or older need to get a police certificate.
You may need a police certificate from any country or territory that you have spent six months or more since the age of 18.
Here is my situation. I left my country of origin (Hong Kong SAR) 2.5 months after my 18th birthday and I have never returned. Other than Canada, there is no country in which I have stayed more than 6 months after 18. So do I need to apply for a police certificate from Hong Kong SAR? If needed, my country of origin (HKSAR) requires a letter requesting a police certificate from the Immigration Canada. Is there anything I should to inform the Immigration Canada that this letter is needed when I submit my permanent residency application?
Thank you.
