Permanent move befor PR Card Expiry?

Dear Group Members ,

Hope all of you are in good health.

I did my first landing on Aug 2015 under skilled category and then came back to my home country. My PR card will be expired on Aug 2020.My question is that should I move permanently to Canada before Aug 2018 (with in three years ) or before expiry of PR card i.e Aug 2020.

Appreciate your reply as I am geting mix response.

Before August 2018 if you want to make sure you can keep your PR status. Once you're back in Canada, you'll want to remain here for two straight years without leaving (again, this is if you want to ensure you can keep your PR status).

If you don't care about your PR status - then by all means wait until after Aug 2018.

For further clarification: The expiry date of your PR card is irrelevant for the two-out-of-five years rule. That's why scylla advised 2018.
