Open work permit Question

I am an international student, we have already submitted the PR/sponsorship package. My current permit expires August 2018, so I understand there is an option to apply for an open work permit that will help me stay here and wait for the processing to end on my current PR application. '
My question is, to apply for the open work permit do i need to have a job lined up? If i currently have a job, do I need to say the job offer is from them? what exactly do I need to include regarding IF I need a job?

It's an open work permit so no job offer needed by definition.

Apply for the work permit by paper which takes 90 days of processing by the time your papers will move for PR as well and you don't need a job offer.
