Best would be if you can find a Realtor to work for you. Check out realtor.ca which is managed by Canadian Real Estate Association, most reliable source for finding listings and agents.

do u have a job offer? are u planning to get a car soon after you landed? do u have kids ?

these are the questions that will help u in finding a place , any new area u move should be able to fulfill your daily needs.
if you have a job then look for house closer to that area, if your kids will go in school then look for area where your kids can go, if you don't plan to have a car immediately then look for transportation.

i can help you if you can answer my above questions, u mention asia, do u want to live closer to people from your country? as u will find country specific shops in specific areas.
