Have a big question here!

When go to see the doctor for the medical exam, the CEC guideline says it is required to disclose the pre-existing or existing medical condition for the past years. I have had some joints pain for the last few months and I was refered to the specialist to do some blood test and etc. The test result came out normal in general except the lack of vitamin D which led me to take some vitamin D for the 3 months.

I have not been dignosed any specific illness about this, but wondering if I will need to open this to the doctor on my PR medical exam? Thank you!

Hi Krystine,

Yes, you should report this to the doctor for your PR medical exam.

The doctor will ask you about your medical history and treatments and you should mention those events. You should probably even bring whatever documents you have relating to your past treatments.

Having said that, I don't think what you described is anything to worry about.

As per IRCC:

"An applicant may be refused on health grounds – if their condition:

  • is likely to be a danger to public health or public safety, or
  • might reasonably be expected to cause excessive demand on health or social services"
