Manila Passport Request at START of processing?

im really upset w/ the procedure and the so called processing time of our papers... the embassy get our passport aug. of last year, knowing na ilang weeks lang me visa na kami... but till now were still here no passport or what so ever... even my husband in toronto wala parin yung PR nya... nakakainis na... my husband even ask help for MP, and He get a reply fr. the MP na He still need to wait for the background check to be completed... naku naman ANONG PETSA NA


ano kaya ang naging problem dito kaya sa atin o dun na sa kanila? (Canada)?

Ako din po hindi pa po nila binabalik passport ko po with visa...january 2012 ko pa po binigay un passport ko po sa canadian embassy manila....nakakainip na maghintay super tagal nila

LOL. It was meant as a rhetorical question. They do things their own way at their own speed.
Our application hasn't yet made it to Manila yet but they can have my wife's passport for as long as it takes to get the visa in there. This whole process from start to finish is a nightmare. So much misinformation.

Sorry I was a bit slow... You're right about them doing things their own way, with no logical purpose. That's just how it is... and people have no choice but to accept it. But from what I've read, some countries have even worse visa processing offices.

I'm Sherwin from edmonton ab, just want to ask how long does it take to get our passport back, although they say with in 90 days? any idea? we received our passport request last august 9, and i send it through our agency the next day august 10, when i check the e-cas sept 18, it was decision made. until now i'm still waiting.

requested original passport and other additional documents: Dec. 1, 2012
PP sent and other documents: Dec. 18, 2012 (it's late because i didn't notice their email)
E-CAS status: still the same "application received" (May 2012 in Canada) ....i think they forgot to update my E-CAS but good thing they sent email that they received my application in Manila and that they want me to send my original passport.

4now: still waiting for the updates

I can understand Manila wanting to be sure the applicant is even permitted to get a passport, because unlike Canada, filipinos are not 'entitled' to a passport and have to go through an interview process before they can get one.

But if Canadian Embassy actually holds on the the passport then I have a dilemma. My wife's (she is the applicant) passport expires in 11 months (Dec 2013) so if it reasonable to start the process of applying for a Permanent Residency, family class, now? I mean what happens if they are still working on it when the passport expires?

ECAS never seems to get updated until you are past the need to use it.

Does she need to surrender the old passport before she gets the new one? I would imagine that once CIC realizes they have an expired passport they return it and wait to stamp the new one.

Hello, Ms Tess, natuwa ako nabasa ko post mo imagine we have almost the same case at pareho pa tayo I.N.C..wow! akala ko ako lang Iglesia nandito.d ko na kwento ang buong istorya ko dito pero kung may chance na mgkausap tyo sasabhin ko sayo.april applicant pa ako conjugal din kmi ng patner ko kso na delayed process ng application nmin kc nagka problem medical ko pero nag email sakin CEM requesting my medical result at binigyan lang ako till March 13 to comply malapit na din kc ma expired medical nmin.Kumusta nabigyan ka na visa?kabado rin ako i know na slim lang ang chance ng conjugal lalo na pg f/m kayo.sana post ka dito kung nabigyan ka ba visa.

sis,d ba ito nababasa ng iba na message ko sayo?regarding sa status ng application nmin iniintay pa ng embassy ang medical ng anak ko kc naggamot sya ng 6 mos actually bukas ang repeat xray nya,malapit na din mg expire medical nmin sa march 24 kya ata binigyan lang anak ko til march to submit ng medical nya,anu pla mga evidences ang pinadala mo?medyo hawig ang case natin kya religious reason din ang ginamit nmin,actually nag consult pa partner ko ng immigration lawyer kung may chance ba kmi sa conjugal sabi nman 70% daw ang chance kya nilabanan na nmin wla kc kming ibang choice.yung sa iyo medyo malaki ang chance kc nerequest ang passport mo sana makalusot tayo ano?san pla sa Canada ang partner mo?sa alberta ang sakin sa barrhead malapit sa Edmonton city.san ka pla sa pinas sa angeles city Pampanga ako nakatira.cge sis usap tyo ulit..Good luck sa atin..God Bless!
