Hi,

I am considering to move to Canada with my family (2 adults, 1 kid) and want to get an estimate of the expenses. I am currently living in USA and plan to move with all my stuff here (furniture, including 2 cars)

I am interested in the following cities:
1. Vancouver area
2. Calgary
3. Toronto
4. Kanata

Kindly provide an estimate of following expenses in these cities:

1. House Rent (2 bed apartment)
2. Pre-School for 3 year old
3. Electricity
4. Utilities (Water, trash, sewage etc.)
5. Internet
6. Cell Phone plans
7. Car Insurance for 2 cars
8. Gas cost (per litre)

Thanks in advance

salary intake or accumulated funds are a major factor that can/will decide your status of living in Canada.

What is the salary required to live comfortably..
that depends on your lifestyle. your rent in suburbs+utilities+phone+groceries+gas+insurance+eating out+entertainment+misc will be around CAD 3500 so you should be making around 4700-5000 per month in order to live comfortably and save some money as well. and never look at the salary, always see what you get "after-taxes". thats the mantra in a high-tax land known as Canada.

PS - to earn around CAD 5000 after-taxes.. your salary range should be 95k-105k
