IEC Application is due in 4 days and my passport is due to expire in February 2018

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if someone could please advise me.

I am planning on working for up to 2 years in Canada from approximately August, 2018. My application for an IEC work permit is due in 4 days and I have attached my current passport to the application, which is due to expire in February 2018.

If I was to renew my passport now, would that invalidate the application after I have submitted?

If I don't renew my passport now, will my visa and the time I can stay in Canada be restricted by the expiry date on my current passport?

I am also travelling to Asia in the new year, so I need to makes plans in regards to booking flights ahead of time.

See here although for sure do not arrive with a Feb 2018 passport as will be a very short work permit !
